We work with young people in secondary schools in Central Scotland to raise
awareness and empower pupils by developing constructive attitudes relating
to violence of all kinds.
The website for this project is now available HERE.

The interactive quiz has been designed using Macromedia Flash and requires that Flash 6 or higher level of plug-in is installed in your browser. It uses Flash accessibility features with buttons and static information and includes sound for dynamic text. We believe that it is accessible for those who are visually impaired and also for those who have poor reading skills. It has only been tested on Microsoft systems and on Linux.... so, if you encounter accessibility problems when using the quiz, please contact us with details.
The quiz design is in two parts.
Part 1 only starts after the pre-loader has determined that the quiz framework has been loaded. Part 1 is a visual game [a variation of traditional O's and X's] which the user plays while waiting for the sound module to be loaded. It has a start button at the bottom right of the screen which must be pressed to start the quiz.
Part 2 is the quiz itself. The quiz screen is arranged in 3 areas. The left half of the quiz screen contains 12 randomly placed buttons, press a button to select a quiz question. The top right quarter of the quiz screen contains 5 option buttons for the selected question. The bottom right of the quiz screen is where feedback for each option is displayed. Sound is on by default. The button to select sound on/off is at top of the options area of the quiz screen. If sound is on, then when a question button is selected the question is spoken followed by all the options. If the mouse is over an option button it is spoken, press button to select the option and listen to the feedback. If you press another button while sound is talking, it stops whatever is current.
We want feedback on your experience of using our quiz.
